Prosthetics

If a tooth is lost due to illness or an accident, for example, dental prosthetics can help.
The aim of prosthetics is to replace lost teeth - in such a way that the artificial tooth is functionally and cosmetically equivalent to the natural tooth. In our practice, we offer a wide range of options for replacing missing teeth.

Crowns

A dental crown can be used, for example, to complete damaged teeth, as an anchor for bridges or to stabilise teeth that have undergone root canal treatment. There are different types of crowns, e.g. full cast crowns, veneer crowns or all-ceramic crowns. We will clarify which type and which material promises optimum results for you in a detailed personal consultation.

Bridges

If one or more teeth are missing, we can close the gap with a dental bridge. The neighbouring healthy teeth are slightly ground down and crowned as bridge abutments. As with crowns, there are various materials to choose from, e.g. all-ceramic or a mixture of ceramic and metal.

Implants

A dental implant can be thought of as an artificial tooth root. They are anchored directly into the jawbone in edentulous jaw sections. Due to their appearance, implants are also jokingly referred to as "dowels" by some patients. Nowadays, there are a variety of implant systems, the differences between which lie in the design, the surface and the type of connection between the implant body and the dental prosthesis attached to it.

Inlays and onlays

Ideal restorations, e.g. for a hole in a tooth, are in most cases inlays (inlay filling; workpieces prefabricated by the dental laboratory that are glued into the prepared tooth) or onlays (large inlay; covers the chewing surface of the natural tooth crown and is produced in a dental laboratory). The materials used are gold or ceramic, which are very resistant.
