If bacteria from the oral cavity penetrate the inside of the tooth due to deep defects in the tooth structure, they can cause irreversible inflammation of the tooth nerve. In order to preserve the tooth, root canal treatment is usually necessary. We remove the infected nerve tissue and thoroughly clean the root canal system of the bacteria.
Root apex resection
If a chronic inflammatory process in the area of the root tip cannot be cured by conventional root canal treatment, if this is not possible for certain reasons or if X-rays show specific changes, an apicoectomy can provide relief. In this procedure, the root tip is removed and the inflamed tissue and the bacteria-proof seal of the root canal are removed in order to preserve the tooth.
